Description:
The Diversionary Device Training System is a simple device that has an operational charge. The reload is designed with a pyrotechnic delay of one to two seconds and a report of approximately110 dB. Users get all of the training benefits without the overpressure, movement, extreme light, heat or fire hazard potential associated with an operational device. This device can be used in virtually any environment for training purposes.
History/Background:
This device was designed as a cost effective, inexpensive way to train. The device is considered non-destructive, therefore the cumbersome BATF paperwork is not required.
* Fuses are available with safety upon request. The Item was designed to be exempt from regulatory provisions, therefore there is no record keeping necessary with each use. Status: Currently Available.

Incapacitation Mechanism/Technology:
The Diversionary Device Training System is a realistic training tool for the deployment of operational Diversionary Devices. This device is not intended for, nor should be used as an incapacitation tool.

Performance Characteristics:

These devices should not be used in areas with high fire potential.
Documentation Requirements:
It is recommended that officers training records be annotated to indicate proper training of less lethal blunt impact munitions use has been accomplished.

Description:
The Tactical Coverage, Pocket Smoke, CS Grenade delivers a cloud of CS with a discharge time of around 20 seconds. Their lightweight and compact design make this item easy to carry on a tactical vest or to conceal. They are effective in tactical situations where a number of grenades are required.
History/Background:
The Tactical Coverage, Pocket Smoke, CS Grenade was developed to overcome proximity issues with Insubordinate subjects. The round expels an instant emission of CS Smoke for quick coverage and deterrence by individuals engaged in undesired behavior.

Incapacitation Mechanism/Technology:
The Tactical Coverage, Pocket Smoke, CS Grenade is designed to cause disorientation through tearing and burning Sensation in the eyes, violent coughing and extreme burning sensation to exposed skin surfaces. This grenade is designed to result in behavior modifications or retreat away from officers or immediate response to issued commands.

Operational Limitations:
Countermeasures:
  • A. Heavy flora, natural or man-made cover or concealment, or gas masks.
  • B. Weather/Environment Limitations: Rain, Wind.
  • C. Legal, fratricide, multi-shot/recycle time, number of shots, shot/long term human effects; discharge of gas will displace oxygen, Not for use in areas of limited ventilation. Injuries may result in the form of contusions, abrasions, broken ribs and concussions if individuals are struck with the canister or sub-munitions.
  • D. Fire hazard present, this munitions should only be used outdoors. Avoid roof top exposure and indoor environments.

Warning !!!: Canisters are very hot, when picking up use protective gloves. These devices may cause asphyxiation in poorly ventilated areas.
